Asker International School (AIS) moved into new premises in Asker in August 2023. Principal Robert Browne has challenged us through the project to develop technological solutions to address specific challenges in school life.

We have worked along two tracks in this project.
One has been to build intuitive solutions for presentation and video conferencing that can also be used as information displays when the equipment is actively in use. It has also been designed for touch use in the future, so that visitors can use the information displays to navigate through the building. This has resulted in a fantastic multipurpose room, which is used for board meetings, informational meetings, and is notably the first thing visitors see from the outside when they arrive at the building. Additionally, we have delivered a robust projector solution with video conferencing and top-notch sound in a large multipurpose room. Everything from large gatherings to ball games takes place here. All solutions had to be designed based on the fact that the school uses Google Chromebooks, while also ensuring it's just as easy to connect as a guest with a PC or Mac.
Information displays with software from PLAYipp are in use for simple communication to both students, teachers, and visitors. With a good groundwork around structure and setup, it is very easy to ensure the right content is at the right place at the right time.

The second track is about tactile, interactive solutions.
Right at the entrance, you experience AIS's focus on technology. Here, you are welcomed by the principal with a pre-recorded greeting. It is transmitted through directional speakers that make you feel the sound very close and direct, while it is not disruptive to the surroundings.
Another exciting element in the delivery has been to build an interactive room where students can physically interact in games and programs projected onto the floor. The movements and interaction are managed with sensor and camera-controlled interactivity.

We have also built a listening room where one or more students can listen to audiobooks from a permanently mounted and locked tablet. Very good and pleasant sound creates a conducive space for concentration and community around the stories.
The latest interactive solution is a 3D fan from HyperVSN. As a continuation of the school's focus on 3D printing, students can now design objects in 3D and have the honor and joy of having it displayed in the common area so the whole school can see what they have accomplished.
For us, it is very rewarding to work with clients who are so focused, challenging, and inspiring, so we thank AIS for the assignment and the collaboration so far and look forward to the continuation, and we extend a big thank you to our IT partner Iqonic for bringing us into the project.
