Complex, but user-friendly solution for DLA Piper
DLA Piper in Oslo has completely renovated its beautiful office space at Aker Brygge. The finishing touch is the auditorium and the social areas on the top floor. The client wanted a flexible yet cohesive solution. Use and operation must be very simple, and it is critical that operations and support can be done remotely. Together with the client, we have developed a complex yet user-friendly solution.

Whether the facilities are used for physical or hybrid events, the flow for participants is very good. To present, you only need to press start on the control panel. The cameras automatically follow you, and the intelligent microphones in the ceiling cover the room impressively well by picking up the sound from the speaker and sending it out to the speakers at the back of the room (voicelift).
There is no need for an extra handheld microphone to take questions from the audience. The sound is transmitted directly to the digital meeting. The microphones are also painted in the color of the ceiling.
You only need to think about the content of your presentation, not the technology and equipment in the room. The solution handles the rest of the production. User-friendly and smart!
The centerpiece in the room is an LED screen that is a massive 253 inches. The screen is in 21:9 format, which is both forward-looking and supports the format that, among others, Microsoft seems to base much on moving forward. It is easy to change the layout on the screen to adapt to different types of content. The screen has a background image with DLA Piper's profile, information about the guest network, welcome messages, etc.
When there are no events in the room, the platform PLAYipp is used to publish relevant and time-controlled content to the screen, both in the auditorium and in the social zone.

Choice of solution
Due to the need to use products that can be controlled, monitored, and operated over the network, and that are also approved in DLA Piper's global network overviews, we built a solution around Q-Sys and their Seervision solution for camera automation.
Microsoft Teams and camera
DLA Piper has Microsoft Teams as the standard platform for video meetings. Therefore, we based the solution on a corresponding MTR system used in all meeting rooms, but we have scaled the image and sound to fit the room.
In practice, this means we have installed three cameras, two of which are directed at the front of the room and the third at the audience.
The cameras facing the front automatically capture the presenter and follow them within a defined area.
The camera facing the audience will automatically show a predefined section of the audience when questions are asked, based on data from the microphones about where in the audience the person is sitting.

Speakers, microphones, and camera cables are painted in the color of the ceiling
“The solution that 3C has delivered has given us rooms that we are simply really proud of. The goal was to ease the burden for everyone involved in events, and it has succeeded 100 %”
— Tom Nicolaysen, IT Legal Technology Specialist
Wow at first glance
When you enter the reception, your gaze will surely be drawn to the transparent LED screen that is mounted in front of the window in the sleek social zone.
With a width of 340 cm, the screen is not completely invisible. But it is transparent. You can see out towards the water and the area, while the screen serves as a strong eye-catcher. Welcome messages, information about events, and other internal branding are published here. The screen can also show presentations from the auditorium, TV, games, and much more fun. Of course, synchronized with powerful sound through ceiling-mounted speakers and subwoofers.
Focus on flow
In summary, DLA Piper has received a “state of the art” auditorium that makes it easy to hold presentations, hybrid meetings, seminars, and all types of events without the need for technical expertise. The whole solution is “transparent,” in the sense that the user only connects their own laptop for presentation and presses “Join” if it is a Teams meeting. The rest of the work is done by the solution from 3C.
The solution is connected with sound and image in the social zone, which provides flow and coherence in all types of events.
We thank DLA Piper very much for the trust and look forward to further cooperation.
